I'll admit that I anticipated some people not to like the idea behind Playing Dirty, but after posting the first chapter on TSR I already have my first flame.

um, no, i won't be reading anymore of this story. that's not what i was thinking it would be like. it's just disgusting that he would set up his own girlfriend to sleep with his teacher and then get the guy fired, just for a damn c. that's ridiculous and i don't see how any spuffiness in this can be good. i also feel like gagging just seeing her with angel. and you made buffy seem like a whore, sorry, really don't like it.

I'm not mad or anything, everyone has their own opinion I just don't understand. Why leave something nasty like that when you could chose to say nothing at all? Whatever, I'm sure I'll be getting more complaints as the story progresses. I just wish people would keep all their negative comments that cannot be considered constructive crtiticism to themselves! I really don't want to get nasty, but I'm more than capable of it.

Aww, you'll always remember your first *smile* Okay, no, you won't. It will soon be forgotten, but yet, the idiots keep coming out to leave pointless reviews like this everyday. There's always someone who just sees it necessary not to review every other chapter, but then to explain why they won't be reading the fic after such-and-such chapter. It's ridiculous and frustrating, but don't worry, the good by far outrank the bad.

Yeah, color me shocked. It's TSR. The place where any fic: not written about high schoolers, by high schoolers, for high schoolers; all human and/or remakes of classic movies or television; and generally lacking in anything even remotely resembling Spike, Buffy, characterization, semi-coherent plotlines or any semblence of proper grammar gets lauded, reviewed out the wazoo, nommed and awarded. Meanwhile, those very excellent authors who've not yet given up out of frustration after their wonderful chapters and killer fics have been ganged up on by a buncha children who think that if they are mean enough to others, they'll end up with the site all to themselves.

But I'm not bitter, or anything.

I popped on over to SR to actually read the first chappie, now it's not very often you read a fic and go ooooh you bad people.

I actually resorted to speaking to the screen! I love it and so want you to continue, i love the angst as much as i love the fluff!

Seriously, flamers amuse me so much. I've gotten a few pissed off people emailing me about Bridging the Gap, and I'm 20 chapters into it. Laugh and move on is pretty much my philosophy now.

*hugs* I just got a flam as well for one of my fics. I did a boodshedverse challenge on the halloween ep. Made Xander a "gangsta rapper" the comment was basically I'm sending the wong message about rappers, by making Xander act, walk, and talk a certain way. PLEEEEASE, it was a story. Anywho I'm off to read your new fic!

flames are annoying, it just shows the limited I.Q. of the person who wrote it, and its very hard not to take it personally, I once got jumped on by a Buffy/Giles shipper at ff.net, and I was like WTF? why are you even reading Spuffy if its not your ship???

Lordy the SR flamers have struck again! They can be a rotten lot - though I have noticed only the best writers get flamed over there.

But you see you did it wrong you wrote a challenging fic with original ideas and good writing - they don't like that over there *winks* Okay am putting sarky Schez back in her box. I am very much of the if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything school of thought and mean reviews are just not nice! Don't let whoever it was get to you *shakes fist at flamer*

I can't even count the number of flames I received for Blackmailed into Love. Readers do not like our beloved characters flawed, even if they are.

Unfortunately, people are becoming more brazen with their critisim. If I had something bad to say other than "get a beta" I would personally and privately write the author. The only consolation is that you can delete reviews from TSR. That critism is not usable.

Keep going! Your summary pretty much states what is going to happen and that reader should have paid more attention.

I agree with Tam. You've got to write fic the way YOU want it to be. Screw flamers, if they don't like your fic then they should just not read it, not attack you for it.

Or better yet, write their own where EVERYTHING is perfect and Buffy and Spike are always so in love. *snort* Cos that would be believable.

Yeah, I'm behind, but I just checked your journal now. Seriously, don't even worry about it. I'll tell you about a really stupid flame I got recently on ff.net. This person was anti-Spuffy and basically said that being for Spuffy is being for rapists and that I should burn in hell. Seriously, what the hell is that about? If you're not into Spuffy, why are you even bothering to read a Spuffy fiction, and this wasn't even the first chapter that got the review. What, do they go around to all the Spuffy fictions and post that crap? It was probably a damn Bangel fan...lol! Right, because he's never raped anyone. I told my friend about it and we were laughing because it was just so pathetic. You have to try and just laugh it off because they're the ones that look bad. I basically just deleted it and moved on. I got to it before it was on the site, so no one really ever saw it. I'm reading so much stuff right now that it's hard to keep track, but I may check out your story. Have a nice trip=)
