i know, i know...

You're gonna be like "WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?" after you hear my question BUT, I don't know the answer so I'm askin' anyway :D

From the interviews and such I've seen of JM, it seems like he doesn't like SMG very much.  This makes me sad, because-HELLO-Spuffy!  Obviously, I know JM and SMG are real people and not Spike and Buffy, but it still makes me sad to think they don't like each other.  Does anyone know anything more about this?  If I'm crazy just tell me, but like I said I've seen things that have made me go hmmm...For example I just recently watched a video of JM and Juliet Landau at some convention, and JM makes comments about how he loved working with JL as Drusilla and other comments about how he didn't like the Spuffy story line because at the time he couldn't see Buffy actually getting with Spike, and he it took him a while to believe Spike would fall for her.  That's only one example.

Am I crazy?  Does anyone have concrete evidence to support my claim?  Either way I'd love to hear some thoughts on this even though I'm SURE this has been discussed TO DEATH!

Here is my take on it having been sitting front row center for the Austin Comic Con panel which I believe was James and Juliet's 1st interview together in quite some time. I think that James has made no secret of the fact that he much preferred playing Spike when he was the soulless "Big Bad" in the earlier seasons with Juliet. They had good onscreen chemistry and he loved playing the bad boy. He has often said that he didn't like season 6 and the way it went down with all the Spuffy sex and unhealthy relationship with "Seeing Red" being the big, nasty cherry on top. That is not the direction that he wanted to character to take. But, I don't think that it equates to him not liking SMG. I also think that he mentioned that he loved working with Juliet several times during the panel because hello, she was sitting right next to him, lol. He didn't even mention SMG at all (None of the cast brought her up in either of the Austin Buffy panels come to think of it). If you watch the commentary on the DVDs though, he actually says that he and Sarah got along really well and where close on set but that SMG is a very private person and often kept to herself, not associating with the rest of the cast in their off time. Not just James but the vast majority of the cast. She likes to keep her personal and work lives separate.
Also, I think that big Buffy fans like us tend to forget that the series ended 8 years ago. While James knows that it was what put him on the map so to speak and continues to promote his character, he wants people to focus on the fact that he is still acting - he has some new stuff coming out - and making music.
I think as far as the interviews go, I was much more suprised at what a BITCH Charisma Carpenter is. She was very rude with fans before, during and after the panel. She also allowed very few photos of her to be taken except during the photo ops where she was getting paid. She would see a camera pointed at her and she would throw her hand up in front of her face. She also talked negatively about ATS and her time on the show. She just came across as bitter.

Yeah, I'd think playing a villain would be more fun than a lovesick puppy LOL...Thanks for your input!

So then he must have hated seasons 2 and 3 when he was playing Drusilla's lovesick puppy? ;)
