A Rec.

Last night I read The Ballad of Randy and Joan by Annie Sewell-Jennings.  It's 9 chapters long, and so bittersweet.

Summary:  "She is a blank canvas, and he is not allowed to paint her."

Since that's not much to go on, it's set in a post-apocalyptic world (it's the end of the world as we know it) and Buffy doesn't remember her life before the world ended.  Such a great read, I definitely recommend reading if you haven't or re-reading if it's been a while.

I second this rec so hard

I read this a few weeks ago, and I have no problems admitting that I was a crying mess by the end. But in a good way...

SO. SAD. FOR. SPIKE.

Such a beautifully written story. The scene with Faith in the bar, I honestly felt like that could've been a scene in a movie. I went back and read it two or three times because it was so amazing.

OMG your icon is so perfect for this fic, let me find a bucket for my tears

I keep wanting to go back and reread parts of it, but I honestly feel like I'm going to cry if I just think about it for too long so...

I can't even put my finger on exactly what is was that effected me so strongly. IT WAS JUST SO SAD ALL OVER THE PLACE.

Thank you! My icon was made by the very talented [livejournal.com profile] pamsblau. And I know what you mean about the story. Spike makes me wanna cry with how much he loves her, and all he'll do for her. I wanna cry for Buffy who was ultimately the cause of her friends' and sister's deaths. So wonderfully heartbreaking!!

Oh, yes, but really anything by Annie Sewell-Jennings. My all-time favorite fic is her "The Last Summer." Amazing!

I've never read her stories before, but I'll definitely be reading her others. Thanks for the rec :)
