Season five thoughts (LOST)

Currently on the third episode of season six, but here are some thoughts on season five

I'm sick and my head's all fuzzy so this'll be brief.

What is everyone even thinking?
Is Sayid the only one playing with a full deck here?  Normally I'd never be on board with killing a cute little nerdy kid, but when that kid turns out to be BEN...yeah I'm okay with that.  I was so glad Jack refused to help, and I honestly have no idea why Kate, Sawyer and Juliet felt the need to save Ben.  I get it from a writing stand point cuz he's a major character, but these people are KILLERS.  Why would they give a fuck about a kid who grows up to terrorize them??

Everything hurts and nothing is okay.
Definitely not the biggest Juliet fan out there, but I absolutely broke down and cried like a baby when she fell down the shaft/hole/whateveritwas.  Sawyer was completely amazing and beautiful in that scene.  I kinda get it now.  Him and Juliet were real.  And then everyone came back and it all went to hell.  Still don't ship them, but I get it.

Daniel Faraday's mother killing him in 1977 was rough, too.  I love this show cuz all it does it shock the hell outta me.

???
I have no clue anything that went on between John Locke (who is simultaneously dead and alive) and Ben.  Really enjoyed Sun hitting Ben in the back of the head with an oar, though.  She is so badass when she wants to be.

As I'm writing this it seems I don't have many thoughts from this season.  I enjoyed it, but it definitely wasn't a favorite.  I guess it makes some sort of "sense" that they're all dead and on this island (yes, I know how this show ultimately ends), but then they're all dead but go back to the "real world"?

I've started season six, so some things are cleared up.  Like how Locke is dead and not really dead.  Where the heck Claire is.  Still new questions, but it won't be long now.

Take a look at this Lost Seaon 5 drinking game I found.  You'd be in the hospital after one episode.

re: killing child!Ben, I kinda understood that one character might have been like "Hey guys, maybe killing a child isn't such a great idea", but I totally could not for the life of me figure out why three of the major characters were so against it. It's like they just forgot everything Ben ever did to them.

I'm with you on Juliet's death. Absolutely do not ship them at all and can't stand her as a character but that scene had me weeping like a baby. Also, Faraday getting killed by his mom was one of the most mindfuck moments of the entire show. I loved and hated it at the same time.

As for the Locke stuff... from here on out you kinda just have to watch it and deal with it, because you can't really figure it out :P it gets pretty crazy.

Also I just wanted to clarify, they're not all dead on the island. It will make sense, but yeah. It's one of the biggest misconceptions about Lost, that they're dead the whole time, because they're not. I don't understand how so many people misunderstood the finale so wildly. :P

AMEN. Everything that happened on the island, actually happened and was real (yay!)
Oh, I miss this show so much!

I was especially surprised by Juliet. She was so cool and detached from a lot of things, but when it comes to someone who literally kept her prisoner for all those years that's what she takes an emotional stand on? Or was it that she didn't want to disagree with Sawyer/Kate?

I need to get to the finale and see for myself what happens. I'm gonna reference this comment (http://spuffy-noelle.livejournal.com/82507.html?thread=528203#t528203) because I have a feeling I'll be repeating myself quite a bit in this post :)

Yeah, I think it may have been an agreeing with Sawyer thing because really... Ben put her through so much shit that she should have been all for it haha.

lol that's fair enough. It will all make sense, I promise. In a way I can kinda see how people think that they're all dead the entire time, but... no. No, that's not what happens. :P

I really don't think that was the case for Juliet. She's a doctor; she took the Hippocratic oath, and that meant something to her. She goes and tears a strip off Jack for not helping, and that had nothing to do with Sawyer. And Sawyer was the one who says he's doing it for Juliet--Kate comes and offers to take him to the Others, and then Juliet sends Sawyer after her to help.

Ah that's true, I forgot about that! I still think it was OOC for all three of them, but now remembering that information I think it was most in-character for Juliet out of the three.
