Angel is coming to an end....
Jul. 20th, 2011 09:32 amDid I cry like a baby at the end of "A Hole in the World"? You betcha I did...
FINALLY Wes and Fred get together and she dies?? I knew about Illyria, but I'd never actually seen the episodes before. I thought the whole episode was great. Lorne's face when he read her right before she coughs up blood...how much do I love that green fella! And then when she's in the hospital bed and "her boys" are at her bedside...

Damn you, Knox!!!!!! Obviously, I never liked him because, HELLO, Wesley, but what a son of a bitch! I wish Gunn had killed him, but it only made it better when Wesley did. Have I mentioned how hot crazy, scruffy Wes is? I loved him with Lilah, but he was totally different with Fred and I loved them in a different way.
Which brings me back to my original thought, how sad was that last scene with Fred and Wes in her bedroom?

"Why can't I stay?"
Yes, why couldn't she stay? Why did they have to kill off the only remaining female (except, I guess, for Harmony, who I am liking a little bit more in Angel than I did in Buffy). Everyone was so sad in "Shells", especially poor Lorne.
I have three episodes left in season 5. Spike was such a great addition, he really is funny and made the show a lot funnier. "Smile Time" was such a fun episode, and how funny was Spike and Angel's debate over cavemen vs. astronauts?
Spike: It's bollocks, Angel! It's your brand of bollocks from first to last.
Angel: No, you can't ever see the big picture. You can't see any picture!
Spike: I am talking about something primal. Right? Savagery. Brutal animal instinct.
Angel: And that wins out every time with you. You know, the human race has evolved, Spike!
Spike: Oh, into a bunch of namby-pamby, self-analyzing wankers who could never hope to...
Angel: We're bigger. We're smarter. Plus, there's a thing called teamwork, not to mention the superstitious terror of your pure aggressors!
Spike: You just want it to be the way you want it to be.
Angel: It's not about what I want!
Wesley Wyndam-Pryce: Sorry. Is this something we should all be discussing?
Angel: No.
Wesley Wyndam-Pryce: It just sounds a little serious.
Angel: It was mostly... theoretical. We...
Spike: We were just working out a - Look, if cavemen and astronauts got into a fight, who would win?
Wesley Wyndam-Pryce: Ah. You've been yelling at each other for 40 minutes about this.
[pause]
Wesley Wyndam-Pryce: Do the astronauts have weapons?
Did I mention that I love Wes? It's gotta be something about those Brits...
Anyway, color me sad that Fred is gone, but I can't wait to see what goes down in the final episode. It was on today so I have the last three episodes to watch waiting for me on my DVR. I have a bacterial infection from a hot tub right now so I have plenty of time to watch Angel, read fanfic andhopefully get working on my own stories.

Date: 2011-07-20 03:01 pm (UTC)Plus I loved Fred in season 5. She was the first one of Angels team to be nice to Spike and try to help him.
Plus I also liked Spike and Angel's relationship. It would have been great if they had kept Angel as Spike's sire...

Date: 2011-07-26 02:17 am (UTC)I loved the Cavemen fight...
The only reason I watched Angel was so I could watch season 5 with Spike.
Poor Wesley, he seems to have gotten a really short end of the stick in life along with Fred.

Wesley really did get the short end of the stick with Fred. I waited for how many seasons for them to get together, for it to end after one episode!!
