You're gonna be like "WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?" after you hear my question BUT, I don't know the answer so I'm askin' anyway :D

From the interviews and such I've seen of JM, it seems like he doesn't like SMG very much.  This makes me sad, because-HELLO-Spuffy!  Obviously, I know JM and SMG are real people and not Spike and Buffy, but it still makes me sad to think they don't like each other.  Does anyone know anything more about this?  If I'm crazy just tell me, but like I said I've seen things that have made me go hmmm...For example I just recently watched a video of JM and Juliet Landau at some convention, and JM makes comments about how he loved working with JL as Drusilla and other comments about how he didn't like the Spuffy story line because at the time he couldn't see Buffy actually getting with Spike, and he it took him a while to believe Spike would fall for her.  That's only one example.

Am I crazy?  Does anyone have concrete evidence to support my claim?  Either way I'd love to hear some thoughts on this even though I'm SURE this has been discussed TO DEATH!

As for James and Joss, that's even weirder and harder to figure out. I know that they used to be friendly and James got invited to Joss's house for dinners etc. Joss has only said good things about James, that he's a great actor and really dedicated (e.g. in the DVD commentary for Conviction, he was praising James and he said it was such a pity he didn't get to direct him more, since he only appears in the last scene of that episode). I really don't know what went wrong there, but I know that James is now saying that he never got along with Joss and that Joss never liked him. (Someone from another forum said James told him that at a convention.) Which I find hard to believe, especially since Joss loves the character of Spike and gave him such great storylines and wrote so many great scenes for James to play.

My impression is that James is a bit of a drama queen and oversensitive and might have taken some things Joss said the wrong way. Joss has a habit of saying some flippant things in jest. Some people have speculated that James might have been offended when Joss called James "the best ingenue" they had paired up with David (unlucky choice of word, but what he meant seemed to be simply that he worked better with David than any of the actresses) or when he joked that the network got a "shiny blond thing and they're going to show if off" referring to WB promoting Spike on season 5. A couple of people on BF think, or think that James thought, took at as calling James just a pretty boy, which is really unlikely, IMO, and doesn't fit with all Joss said about his talent and dedication.

James has also mentioned that, when he was first on the show in season 2, Joss told him to dial it down because he was playing a bit OTT, having come from the theatre, and also that he told him he could get killed off and not to get too self-assured, "Don't expect this to become a Spike show". So maybe James now takes this too seriously or interprets it as Joss never liking him.

Thanks for all that info! It's good to hear my suspicions were wrong. It doesn't bother me nearly as much thinking that James and Joss had problems.
