My life has become a series of meme's and rec's

Meme #1 - Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

My questions come from the lovely ever_neutral:

1) Favourite book --> film adaptations?

The first one that comes to mind is The Notebook.  I couldn't even get through the book I hated it so much, but I love the movie and I'll watch it every time it's on TV.  The Time Traveler's Wife had me bawling at the end, which may not sound like a good thing, but I love when movies make me cry!  The Lovely Bones, the Bourne movies, Cruel Intentions, The Help, Memento, Outside Providence, Pearl Harbor, Shooter, Shutter Island, Water for Elephants.  And I'm holding out hope that The Hunger Games will do the books justice!

2) Funniest characters.

Spike (of course), the entire cast of Parks & Recreation, Phil Dunphy (Modern Family), Schmidt (New Girl), Barney Stinson (HIMYM), ARI GOLD & Lloyd (Entourage), the entire cast of Happy Endings, Dwight Shrute (The Office).  I know there are more, but that's all I can think of right now.

3) How do you feel about Angel (the character)? Do you like him? (I can't recall.)

I like Angel, but he's just about my least favorite character from both shows.  And I don't want him anywhere near my Buffy, unless she's proclaiming her undying love for Spike - then that's okay.  I love, love, LOVE Angelus, though.  Season 2 of Buffy was so much fun with Angelus running around.  Passion is one of my favorite episodes because of him.

4) Favourite characters to write?

I mostly only write Spuffy, so I guess I have to say Spike and Buffy.  Writing Willow and Giles is fun too, though.

5) Fanfiction peeves.

It's so funny you ask this because I was just reading two different fanfics, and there were two different things that irked me.  I don't like to criticize other people because Lord knows I'm not a great writer, but I can't stand when Buffy all of a sudden realizes she loves Spike and is all of a sudden sticky sweet to him.  It's completely out of character for Buffy to act like that!  The other peeve is terrible sex scenes.  Sometimes I swear I wonder if the author has ever had sex before??  And if they have it makes me sad because it was obviously horrible!

6) Top five ships.

Spike/Buffy.  Damon/Elena.  Chuck/Blair.  Wes/Lilah.  Andrew/Bridget.  (IDK about TOP 5, but they're the first 5 that come to mind.)

7) Shows you own on DVD.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The OC (seasons 1 & 2), True Blood (season 1), Nip/Tuck (season 1), Party of Five (seasons 1-3), Entourage (season 1), Sex and the City (seasons 1-3), Grey's Anatomy (season 1), Veronica Mars (season 1).

1. DAMON SALVATORE (The Vampire Diaries)



I love you, Damon Salvatore.  Please feel free to jump out of my TV screen anytime.  I love his snark and the chemistry he has with every single character (& inanimate objects LOL) on that show.  

2.  Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones)

My dragon mama!  I don't read the books, so no spoilers please!  But I really hope she kicks some ass and takes over!  She's gotten so strong in one season, and I can't imagine that'll stop anytime soon.  

3.  Drusilla & Darla (BtVS/AtS)



I had to put these two together, but I love them separately, too.  Darla didn't do much for me in season 1 of BtVS, but I loved Drusilla in season 2.  Darla on Angel was so great, and having them two on the screen together was hilarious.  I wish they'd been on both shows more!

4.  Donna Pinciotti (That 70's Show)



Even though this show isn't running (and hasn't been for a long time) I still watch it ALL THE TIME!  Donna/Eric are my favorite ship on that show, and I love that Donna's the one wearing the pants in the relationship.  Their relationship is hysterical - this GIF perfectly describes the hilarity.

5.  Dr. Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds)

This clip is one of my favorite Dr. Reid moments.  I like the rest of the cast, but he makes the show for me.  I love how socially awkward he is, the reactions of other people when he starts spouting off random facts, & how he's taken care of his mother since like 8 years old.  One of my all time favorite characters!

Of course I have to give you a rec!  I've been reading so much fanfic lately - I started a new job and have a ton of time to read on my commute AND at work.

Summary: Post-Not Fade Away. Buffy seeks Spike's remains, but then finds him in the most unusal place.

Seriously loved this story!  Buffy really works hard to earn Spike's trust, but it's not frustrating.  Beautifully written and I'm sure everyone has already read it, but if you haven't GET ON IT!  Definitely worth a read or even a re-read.
