I FINALLY FINISHED!!
I was basically choked up or crying from the time that Jin and Sun "died" in the submarine. I don't have a whole lot of coherent thoughts at the moment, but would love to talk about the show now that I've finished. I'd love to know what it was like when the show was on the air and actually ended.
I thought the alternate timeline throughout the last season was very interesting, especially as the characters started remembering in the last episode.
I guess I should mention that I knew on some level that they were all dead from when I began watching the series. I had no clue where it would go, or how they would reveal that the characters were all dead and I was afraid that it was going to be ambiguous so I was very happy when Jack's father came out and said it.
Can someone explain the alternate timeline to me. Were they in both places at once? It just doesn't make sense that if they died like for example Juliet that she would go to this alternate place because say Hurley never "died" on the island, but he was in the alternate place. I will definitely be googling all about Lost, but it'll probably have to wait until tomorrow because I've exhausted!
Overall I have to say I was very happy with the finale. I thought it was going to be majorly disappointing, but to me it really did the season justice after a whole lot of mind fuckery.
Oh, and any fanfic recs would be GREATLY appreciated!

Date: 2013-12-30 01:11 am (UTC)Juliet was such a controversial character, I think that's why I loved her so.
And yay for Ana-Lucia hate. I mean, I hated Michael, too, but when he killed A-L I was cheering. I didn't like her to begin with, and then she KILLED Shannon. I could never forgive her for that, and I was so glad she wasn't ready to go to the church in the last few eps. LOL

Date: 2013-12-30 01:59 am (UTC)LOVE BOONE!!! There wasn't enough of him as far as I'm concerned. And there is certainly not enough Boone/Shannon fic, either!! I seriously only decided to watch the show because of my love for Ian (and Matthew Fox...love me some Charlie Salinger!)
Effff Ana Lucia! She killed Shannon and was nasty to Sawyer if I remember correctly. I also don't particularly like MR, but that could just be me...
I've started watching Breaking Bad, do/did you watch that?

Date: 2013-12-30 02:26 am (UTC)As for Boone--I never really shipped Boone and Shannon until way after the fact (I enjoyed Shannon/Sayid and was really thrilled when they found each other again), but I have written a couple ficlets about them. The biggest thing about rewatches is you have time to appreciate things more, when you're not puzzling out all the brain-melty things, and upon rewatch Boone and Shannon's chemistry is incredible (Ian and Maggie dated, you know), so it's impossible not to ship them even if it's the most horribly dysfunctional thing ever.
I don't care for MR either, which affects my response to her in film and TV, I'm sure. The only thing I've ever liked her in is Avatar, which is hard for me because I love The Fast and the Furious franchise--but I like the movies without her better, LOL.
I haven't watched BB--I have issues with the drug dealer aspect of it. Some shows I just can't watch because of morality issues I have with it. I'm sure the acting is brilliant, however.
[Still watching the LOST finale, and I just have to mention how interesting it is that Eloise knows the truth, but she doesn't want Desmond to make Daniel remember because she wants to spend more time with him there in the Sideways--so she knows it's not real, and she chooses to stay there, which is another incredible layer I never picked up on before. I'm totally crying right now though because Claire is giving birth and Kate is remembering and AUGH, I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH.]
